Carl F. Bucherer
In 1888, Carl-Friedrich Bucherer opened a jewelry and watch store in Lucerne, and his name soon became synonymous with quality and originality. His two sons were destined from the cradle to follow him into this profession: one became a watchmaker, while the other trained as a goldsmith. Today, the combination of these two skills is still reflected in the brand’s timepieces.
Carl-Friedrich Bucherer was one of the first to imagine a watch to be worn on the wrist. In 1919, the entrepreneur presented his own watch collection for the first time. In 1969, the company participated in developing the first Swiss quartz movement: the Beta 21. The brand was one of the essential names in chronometers throughout the 1970s.
In 2008, the company introduced the first series production caliber with automatic winding, utilizing an oscillating mass on its periphery. In 2016, Carl F. Bucherer achieved manufacture status by increasing and optimizing its creations and production.
